Srinagar’s Master Plan 2035 should be read as a set of connected documents. The official district listing provides an approved report and land-use map dated 20 March 2019. [1] A colour on the map is a starting point for inquiry, not a complete account of what can be built.

Read the map with the written provisions

Locate the site using reliable parcel information, then check the map legend and the relevant provisions in the report. Record the document version and the exact section relied upon. Distinguish existing conditions from proposed land use.

Check road reservations, open-space designations and environmental constraints that may affect the proposal. Where map scale or boundaries leave uncertainty, obtain clarification rather than inferring a precise parcel boundary from a screen image.

Confirm the position before design approval

Ask the responsible planning authority about amendments, applicable development controls and the permissions required for the proposed activity. Check other site-specific restrictions and records as well.

Keep these confirmations with the project brief. A concept drawing, land-use label or online summary does not replace the authority’s assessment of an application. Resolve material uncertainty before committing to a detailed layout.
