Global flyways
Connected networks of migration and wetland habitats with local partners. Kashmir is part of the Central Asian Flyway; do not imply it lies within the East Asian-Australasian programme footprint.
KVI-29 · Wildlife & connectivity
Support corridor and winter-habitat assessment with authorised partners, building on work already under way.

UNDERSTANDING THE ISSUE
Existing conservation work identifies habitat connectivity as an important issue for hangul. A CCK project should build on authorised programmes, establish a distinct contribution and avoid publishing sensitive movement or refuge locations.
The first phase would turn this broad issue into a bounded site investigation. Current condition, the cause of change and an accountable local partnership would guide whether an intervention is appropriate.
Habitat, movement and exposure differ between species and landscapes.
Local livelihoods and public safety are part of an effective conservation response.
Verified observations help direct effort while avoiding disturbance and protecting sensitive locations.
PROPOSED APPROACH
Support corridor and winter-habitat assessment with authorised partners, building on work already under way.
Review existing corridor and seasonal-habitat work with the wildlife department and established conservation partners.
Support an agreed habitat-pressure assessment or stewardship activity where a clear gap exists.
Use partner-approved habitat and disturbance indicators, with sensitive records kept secure.
Review existing corridor and seasonal-habitat work with the wildlife department and established conservation partners. Keep methods, dates, source records and unresolved questions together.
Support an agreed habitat-pressure assessment or stewardship activity where a clear gap exists. Identify responsibilities, permissions, costs and continuing care before proceeding.
Use partner-approved habitat and disturbance indicators, with sensitive records kept secure. State what would count as success, failure or a reason to change course.

These references offer methods to assess locally. They do not establish what will work at a selected Kashmir site.
